MONDAY NEWS & NOTES: The murder of 15-year-old gay teen Lawrence King is getting more national coverage. The New York Times ran a lengthy piece over the weekend. Here's the link. I've been talking to talk to some local activists and interested parties about having a memorial of some kind here in Atlanta. We will definitely have a moment for him on Thursday night at the Limp Wrist launch reading at Outwrite Books.

The picture at right is BFF and hand model Kathy holding the poison bottle for yesterday's photo shoot for After the Poison. Liz is working on cleaning up my author photos and doing two different mock-ups for the cover. Can't wait to see what she comes up with tomorrow.

I'm watching the new series of Skins, which is airing now in the UK. It's become one of my favorite programs. Since it's about a bunch of teens who drink, fuck and drug to excess, I'm guessing it won't ever be shown in America. It might even be too hardcore for Showtime. This season is a bit more serious, as the characters have grown up and faced suicide attempts, gay bashings and the main character being brain damaged after a terrible accident. You can see clips at the link above, but if you search that popular "tube" site all the kids are talking about these days, you might just find entire episodes.

Wow, this is a big lagging, but still it's great to see this piece in the Times. It's so much more REAL than that stupid Time Magazine piece.

i was glad to see the story in the nyt. it's something that deserves national coverage.

so you're watching a show about "a bunch of teens who drink, fuck and drug to excess." that sounds just like me! without the drugs and fucking, or drinking to excess.

"skins" sounds totally awesome. maybe it will be on dvd, since you're right, it won't see the light of day network america.

Skins sounds like what went down the whole time I was in college...
