Pre-Weekend Music: You Know Me Better - Roisin Murphy

I wanted to cleanse my pallet after two nights of American Idol, so I was delighted to hear that musical goddess Roisin Murphy has released my favorite song from her recent album as a single. The first video is the official music video, which reminds me of those old clips made by Sophie Muller for Eurythmics' Savage album with Annie Lennox playing the crazy housewife and her blond bombshell alter-ego. The second video is Roisin busking in London's Covent Garden as part of the TV program The Culture Show. She sounds absolutely amazing live. Oh, to have been in London that afternoon!

I was thinking the same thing about Roisin and the video to "I Love To Listen To Beethoven". At least she is influenced by something that is as exquisite as Eurythmics in their prime with Savage. Great post. I absolutely love Roisin.

She is effortlessly cool and her voice is really amazing. Love the real vid but her and those backup singers in London are so cool.

That's amazing she can sound like that outside of the studio. Wow!

She is the definition of cool for me. She is one of those rare singers who sounds just as good live as on record. She has a natural, expressive voice, writes her own songs and gives one hell of a show. The album this is from "Overpowered" is one of the best albums of 07/08.
