A reading, a workshop, a nomination & publication news
I'm returning to Athens, GA on July 23 to read with Theresa Davis and Sarah M.C. Baugh at Seat in the Shade. The event, sponsored by the University of Georgia College of Education, will be held at Hendershots Coffee starting at 5:30 pm. Many thanks to Melisa Cahnman-Taylor for the invitation and the Georgia Writers Association for sponsoring my visit.
On Aug. 24 at 1 p.m. I'll be leading a free confessional poetry workshop at the Fayette County Public Library in Fayetteville, GA as part of the 18th annual One Book, One Community. Library patrons are reading the poetry of Emily Dickinson and there is a month of related events. See the schedule at this link.
Many thanks to Impossible Archetype and editor Mark Ward for nominating my poem "At Prospect College" for a 2019 Best of the Net.
I also found out last week that I'll be one of 75 writers included in a new coffee table book from Et Alia Press called Closet Cases: LGBTQI Writers on What We Wear. Writers were asked to submit a photo and essay (or poem) about an article of clothing that inspires us or has become a trademark. The book, edited by Megan Volpert, will be out next year.
