BUSY SUNDAY: The September appearances for Better To Travel will wrap up in style on Sunday, Sept. 28 with two events. First up is the Pages at Phipps event sponsored by the Atlanta Literary Festival. I will be reading with other members of the Georgia Poetry Society from 1-3 p.m. at Phipps Plaza. There will also be a book fair, open mic and much more. It's all FREE. Come on on. That evening, I will be with the Jennifer Perry Comb at Java Monkey Speaks in Decatur for our feature set. The evening begins at 8:30 p.m., but if you want a seat get there early. The place fills up fast. Visit www.collinkelley.com or www.atlantaliteraryfestival.com
NIGHT NEWS: Although the turnout at "Night of 100 Authors" was small, I still sold four or five books. I'm excited about that and I enjoyed being at Peachtree Highway book ship and Rich Mintz's hospitality. Thanks again, Rich! I only heard one other report about the Night of 100 Authors and that was from those who attended the event at the Defoor Center. They had David Bottoms, Cheryl Floyd-Miller and many more poets and authors, but only about 20 people showed up for that. You just never know who is going to turn out for what. The literary festival organizers said more people were at my Friday night gig in Fayetteville than were at NY Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks at Phipps Plaza. Go figure.
