DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS: For the last week, I had been silently beating myself up for screwing up my submission to the Austin Poetry Festival's anthology. In the rush to get the poems to them, I didn't realize there was a line limit and I sent three of the longest poems in my recent repertoire. So, I didn't make it into the anthology, which was disappointing. However, today, I found out that I have been added as a "headliner" for the festival. Saturday, April 17 will be very busy in Austin. I'll be reading at the University of Texas Barnes & Noble in the afternoon and then go to the headline event for a second reading. I'm psyched about the trip and the opportunity to take Better To Travel to a new audience. More soon.
