MONDAY NOTES: Was absolutely thrilled that Crash won best picture rather than the overrated Brokeback Mountain, and that Philip Seymour Hoffman walked away with Best Actor for Capote. The only thing the Academy got totally wrong this year was not nominating Thandie Newton for Best Support Actress for her work in Crash. She was glorious. However, Rachel Weisz was excellent in The Constant Gardener, so that helps.

Taped a great interview with award-winning poet Beth Gylys yesterday for The Business of Words. It will begin airing on March 21 and run for two weeks. Leisure Talk Network is also about to make a big change: rather than offering streaming content and podcasts, it will go ALL podcast in April. Leisure Talk has hundreds of listeners around the world and the majority of them download the content that want to listen to at their leisure. I'm happy to say that The Business of Words is one of the most popular shows downloaded for podcasting. More great interviews are coming, including one, hopefully, with AE Stallings. We tried over the weekend, but could never work out Alicia's schedule before she had to jet off to Chicago.

I've added some fantastic poets to the blogroll over on the left. Please make sure to check out these blogging poets: Jenni Russell, Steve Mueske, Ivy Alvarez and Laurel Snyder.

great stuff re: podcasts. will be enlightening listening, i'm sure.

haven't seen "crash," but i thought "capote" was far better than "brokeback mountain," so i guess there is a little justice in this world.

Ah, well, everyone has their own opinion. I thought "Crash" was fantastic...of course, it doesn't come close to other "LA" films like "Short Cuts," "Magnolia" or even "Mullholland Dr.", but I thought it was powerful.
