NEW SLOW TO BURN REVIEW: The new edition of The Pedestal is now live and there is a wonderful review of Slow To Burn by JoSelle Vanderhooft. Here's a few choice bits:

In just twenty-five pages he progresses from uncertain youth to uncertain, if wiser, adult, laying bare the torturous path that led him there in sparse but powerful detail.

In examining his life through the flash-bulb points of memory—coming out, experiencing heartbreak, wrestling with the angel of death—Kelley creates a truly universal work that discusses the most painful of human experiences bravely and with unflinching honesty.

I'm thrilled about this review. It gives me motivation to press forward with the full collection, which expands on these themes. The ideas have been coming fast and furious lately, so I can tell it's going to be a very fertile summer of words.

As an update, we've sold nearly half the print run of Slow To Burn. It's very gratifying that this work is finding its way into the world.

MM...glad to know I have restored faith in the Collin Kelley name. :)
It's a fine review, Collin. Congratulations to you. I am so taken by "Laura Brown". That poem has incredible and haunting power. What an ending--

The expatriation of self,
the erasing of human traces,
letting go of a past you never wanted,
circling up into thin air mythology,

as if to nothing.

Wonderful work.
