OFF THE GRID FOR A MINUTE: I won't have an Internet connection as of midnight Thursday as I make the move to my new apartment. I hope to be able to check in from the complex's business center at some point over the weekend. Internet should be back up on Monday or Tuesday, although I can't figure out why it takes so long to flip a few switches, especially since they've known for two weeks I'm moving on Friday. Sigh. I've been "lightly packing," since most of my move will consist of carrying stuff across the parking deck, but I'm still stunned at the amount of shit I've collected in just a year in this space. I am a packrat at heart.
Found out this afternoon that I will also be on the Poets & Writers panel at the AWP conference here in Atlanta in 2007, along with the previously mentioned OUTspoken reading I'm chairing. The P&W panel will be a discussion on creating and maintaining an open mic and reading series. I'm thrilled to be working with P&W on this. Thanks for inviting me, Bonnie!
Also just got word that I'll be reading at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in the fall with the de-lovely and delicious Karen Head.
