THINKING BLOGGER AWARDS: Last week, blogger Reading the Signs gave me a Thinking Blogger Award, which I was honored to receive. Basically, the award can be bestowed upon any blogger who tickles your fancy. There are some stipulations once you've won the award:
1. If you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.
3. Proudly display the "Thinking Blogger Award" tag on your blog.

I deliberated for a couple of days and picked five blogs to give the award to, and it wasn't easy. So, without further ado, the winners are:
Montgomery Maxton writes about everything from the price of gas to his journey from the wilds of Ohio to NYC and back again. He also posts some of his beautiful photography, stories and poems. MM's blog is a "must visit" everyday.
Sam Rasnake has impressed me with his ongoing mission to post poems that might have fallen through the cracks by a wide array of voices. His online "my anthology of must read american poems" is essential, along with his notes on art and film.
Jenni Russell is one of the funniest, most honest bloggers writing today. We've heard about her sordid past, her triumph over the bottle and watched her grow and mature as a writer. She's working on a memoir. Can't wait!
Tania Rochelle is a fine poet and her blog constantly shows off her sarcastic wit, the strange stories of her husband and children and Friday Nostalgia (usually a YouTube clip of a long lost TV show, film or band) is a must.
Cherryl Floyd-Miller is about to go supernova with her collection Exquisite Heats from Salt Press. Her blog is filled with notes on life, writing, family and she even makes money writing on her blog.
I plan to make these award an annual event, so if you didn't get one this year, keep blogging. This is a great way for bloggers to share and network. Read these winners and enjoy!

I am (gulp) English Rose, by the way. Thought it was safe to come out now. And I really was just joking about American Idol!
