WEEKEND MUSIC: Boys of Summer - Don Henley
Tania posted Henley's "End of the Innocence" as her Friday Nostalgia blog and that made me nostalgic for "Boys of Summer," which remains one of my favorite songs of all time.
Out on the road today I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac...a little voice inside my head said don't look back, you can never look back...

Collin, I remember, all of your five-year-old favorites, too. (I've been a Dolly fan since then days when she hawked towels "in boxes of Breeze.")
Thanks for the post--made my early a.m. Mother's Day.
love the lines you quoted.

On Deadheads...I never was a big Grateful Dead fan (I know, I can admit it now) but saw them in concert in the eighties in Miami. It was like time traveling. People showed up in ti-died tee shirts, long hair, flowers...Almost as strange as seeing Hair onstage in the eighties when the cast was wearing wigs and doing it just as a 'musical' whereas I first saw it in San Fran when the cast looked like anybody on the streets and the experience was a passion for them.
, we can't go back. Sometimes I wonder if we've lost the passion we had then, though. I don't know.
