AFTER THE POISON: I received word this evening that my chapbook of political poetry, After the Poison, was a semi-finalist in the Finishing Line Press annual competition and has been selected for publication in 2008! That's what I call a Christmas present!
I don't have very many details, but should have more soon. Finishing Line Press is about 10 years old and its books have racked up some serious awards and publicity. Garrison Keillor has read from several of the press' books on The Writer's Almanac and Billy Collins picked a poem by Abigail Gramig for his 180 More anthology.
There's much to do -- get blurbs, new photos, figure out artwork, etc. -- but I am absolutely over the moon about this news. Now if someone will pick up Wake and my novel, Conquering Venus, that would be one hell of a hat trick.

Very prestige-filled publishing cred... As if you needed any!
Can't wait to see the political stuff, in print!
