IN MEMORIAM: Arthur C. Clarke
First Minghella and now this sad news.
Clarke
was a science fiction visionary.
2001: A Space Odyssey
is a landmark of 20th century literature.

I hadn't realized until recently that Clarke was a gay man.

I didn't know he was gay. He was married back in the 50s (like that means anything) and had no kids.

i never read
2001
(the shame!), but i loved his short fiction. "the nine million names of god" still gives me the shivers.
his death is sad, but he did live a long and productive life. i should be as lucky.
