In Memoriam: Del Martin


Del Martin has passed away at the age of 87. She and her partner Phyllis Lyon, left, were longtime lesbian activists and one of the first couples to be married after California allowed same-sex weddings. She and Lyon had been partners for 55 years. Her spirit will be missed.

Oh no...I'm so sad. These women did so much for civil rights. I just can't begin to imagine how Phyllis is feeling...

Even as an obituary, it's still good to see elderly gay people receiving a nod. There's such a shortage of wizened folks with decades invested in the community.
