I am so excited about Obama that I was crying into my champagne. But Prop 8 hangs in the balance. Keep hope alive for that. Thanks for all the blogging and keeping hope alive for all of us. Obama should put you in his cabinet. or make you ambassador to the UK.

just like GAV, i am crying.

the only other time i cried over an election, the "winner" was george bush and the tears were not of joy.

in harlem, horns were blaring and people were shouting still, when i went to sleep around 2am.
Hi Coll and everyone:
GOOD GOOD MORNING!
I'm so glad we could all be a part of this campaign. The American people rose to this, and we should all be so proud. My arm is sore from "Obama-bumping", and "fist-pumping" out the window of pal Danny M.'s car. We kept hitting the horn, and I kept shouting to everyone we saw "Obama, Obama."
There was so much chanting of his name, it began to sound like a ballad of sorts....
What a spectacular night for the United States of America! And what hope for our relationship with the world!

my fav Kushner line from Angels is (approx) " . . . the Cracker who wrote the Star Spangled Banner got it right by putting the word *free* on a note so high nobody can ever hit it . . "
but today that line is a lot less true . . . woo-hoo!!!

What a night!! I loved Eugene Robinson tearing up and saying, "Now when I tell my son he can be anything he wants to be, it will actually be true."

Reading your headline, and seeing this poster, gives me shivers all over again, and brings those dad gum tears to my eyes. What joy! And he mentioned everyone in his acceptance speech, all of us, together. We can be one, and with Barack's help, we will be. It's wonderful to come here and see the cheer, the the good news.

I read your following post, about prop 8. Let me know what I can do to help counteract this kind of discrimination. It worries me. On a personal note, my sister, a lesbian, single, adopted a baby girl from Guatemala, who is now three. It scares me to think someone might try to take the baby away from her. I heard that some states are working on banning adoption rites for gays and lesbians. Absolutely criminal.
