da Pogues!! As we started a walking tour in Dublin last year the guide asked each of us what we associated with Ireland. I said, "The Pogues." and he yelled, "Good Man!" (nevermind they're actually more London)
What a wonderful surprise to see The Pogues here this morning! Paul (husband) sang along, snow is falling again, blueberry pancakes await. Merry Christmas!
Great song and great video. Even though Christmas is just another day of struggle and disappointment for too many people, the thought that they can still reach for meaning is inspirational to say the least. BTW, if you ever get a chance to see The Pogues, don't miss it.
For anyone unfamiliar with Christy Moore, Liz will confirm that he is Ireland's greatest living singer and is as big there as Elvis ever was here. His younger brother Barry -- who is terrific in his own right --performs as Luka Bloom so that he's not lost in Christy's shadow.
