TOE, PO' & BIZ: The toe is better today, still a bit sore, but I'll live. I had to go over to the Georgia Tech campus to meet with Karen Head about the digital poetry project, and was able to make it across campus without too much limping. I was filmed reading my MARTA poem today and on Wednesday we are supposed to film inside the MARTA Peachtree Center station. It's fun working with Karen on this and it will be very cool shooting at the station. I'll have an update later in the week.

I think I've posted this before, but Poetry Atlanta is hosting the poetry stage at the Decatur Book Festival this year. I'll be reading on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 2, and then hosting a two hour block of poets that includes Alice Lovelace, Mike Dockins, Lisa Allender and many more. We're finalizing the schedule and there will be a full roster of the poets performing over the two-day period on the Poetry Atlanta website this week.

Yesterday, I was able to put my foot up and do three phone interviews for The Business of Words. My victims: Reb Livingston, PF Potvin and Shafer Hall. As many (or most) of you know, Reb is the editrix of No Tell Books and she published PF and Shafer's collections. The half hour with Reb was lively, PF was on the road to Idaho for an ultramarathon and Shafer did his interview in the lobby of a Bank of America ATM in Boston. It was a hoot! Reb's interview will be available for download in October, followed by PF in November and Shafer in December. You can download Megan Volpert's interview now, followed by Stephen Bluestone in August and Mike Dockins in September. So, the rest of the year is in the can. The Business of Words remains one of Leisure Talk Network's most popular shows. Just since July 15, 70 people had downloaded Rupert Fike's interview.

RIP Tammy Faye. You were a sweet lady.
