The New Modern Confessional

The switch was shockingly easy. Still some tweaks to do, but I welcome your comments on the new look, how it's loading, what might be missing, etc. Dig that new header! That's a confessional box at St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague.

looks great!!!!! loaded just fine, too. maybe have the header go all the way over to the gray box on the right. its tricky, i know.

LOVE IT--I COMMENTED ON YOUR PAST SIX OR SEVEN ENTRIES(just now getting caught up with you).

And in the "that's scary" dept., I actually "recognized" that the confessional displayed here is from an Eastern European area of Orthodoxy or Catholicism. Again, perhaps I am a bit "too" Catholic,, even though I'm not "doctrinaire". LOL.

MM, I'll try and extend the header, but not sure if it will work. In the original template there was an ugly dotted line separating the sidebar and main post field. I figured out how to remove the line in the html, but there is still an invisible "divider" where the dash line used to be.

LA, glad you like it! I found that image of the church on iStock and had to have it.

Hi Collin, I like the purple script and that confessional sure adds to the whole look! The only thing is that I can't see the last youtube video you put up....it's just a blank white square...first time this has happened - maybe it's connected to the new overhaul or maybe not ...I accessed the same video on another blog afterwards though ...just thought I'd let you know in case there's a connection.

Collin, I really like your new look. The picture of the confessional is nice. But on both Mozilla Firefox and IE, I can't see the "L" on confessional, even if go full screen. There may not be anything you can do about it, but I thought you'd like to know now, rather than later.

Having grown up ethnically weird and non-catholic, I would've guessed the header was from an ornate Italian restaurant or a backdrop from a stage set. But such are my failings.

Liz, you probably can't see the last video because it's not from YouTube but from a US television network. I don't think it's viewable in other countries.

Helen, I'm on Firefox and not having any problem seeing the last L. Can you see the sidebar with all my books, etc?

Hmmm...I'm not sure why that's happening on your PC. I don't have a PC at home, but I'll check tomorrow at work and see if there's some issues I can tweak. Thanks for the heads up on this.

the header is gorgeous. and anything you can associate with 'Prague' instantly has a whiff of depth and intelligence. i always say any movie that opens with ' Location Prague ' written anywhere is going to be very good.
